On Travel

I wrote this two years ago and didn’t have the guts to publish it. Now that I’m writing full-time – it’s time to face the publish button… The Day I Decided to Travel It’s about myself The goal was to make $100,000 in salary. A number that I knew would give me any possession or experience I wanted, plus it sounded cool. I’m not ashamed of the goal but I realize now after talking to so many people I respect and trust – I need to re-evaluate. And the reason goes far beyond, “money isn’t everything.” It’s about life & death Life is unpredictable and unfair – a universal truth. Everyone does something different to cope with this. Some put their trust in a faith, and use it as a positive force to help them accomplish anything they want. Some find meaning through family – how many times have you heard someone who turned their life around because they had a child – planned or unexpected. Some cope in an unhealthy way, drug addiction etc. No matter what we do – we’re all looking to find meaning in life. Find a purpose. I believe this starts at a very young age. When I was 5, I wanted to go to UCLA and live in LA. I wanted to leave my hometown for bright lights and new opportunities before I could even spell Los Angeles.
